The Lumina: 8 Inch Handmade Singing Bowl With MicroEtchings
The Lumina, a dynamic hand-made bronze singing bowl. Eye catching micro-etchings, with hand painted flourishes on a triple polished singing bowl.
8 Inches in diameter, made by hand in Northern India and designed by The Ohm Store.
The design aesthetic is inspired by fine jewelry, and you'll see etched florals, geometric fields, and a central lotus mandala catching and releasing reflection.
The patterns are created through a combination of traditional stamping, hand engraving, and hand-applied color work. Precision, while allowing for creativity with hand painting.
The Sound Of The Lumina
Strike the bowl gently and a beautiful third octave sound rings. Stable and beautiful third octave frequencies around 150hz when invited to sing on it's side, and then 400-800hz delightful overtones when easily played around the rim.
Each bowl is visually unique. Small variations in engraving depth, coloration, and surface texture are part of the handmade process and are embraced.
These bowls are now in the United States, and we have been 10 for this one time run of the Lumina singing bowl. Accompanied by a hand sewn cushion and hard-wood, suede wrapped mallet.
An heirloom object for those who appreciate both sound and form.
